About Eyesight International

Eyesight International is dedicated to eliminating blindness and bringing self-sustaining eye care to rural communities in the developing world.

Founded in 1994 by Canadian ophthalmologist Dr. Paul Dubord, Eyesight International works with Partners both in Canada and internationally. We have introduced several innovative initiatives to reduce the incidence of blindness and restore sight to thousands of people.

Eyesight International (Canada), in a joint project with the Canadian International Development Agency, is working with its' southern partners, the L.V. Prasad Eye Instute and the International Centre for the Advancement of Rural Eye Care, in Hyderabad, India, to transform two small and inefficient facilities into financially self sustaining centres delivering high quality eye care services to communities of about 500,000 each. This is being accomplished through the training of all levels of eye care personnel and the development of community eye care programs.
